Why I changed my Health Insurance!

The best health insurance you never heard of

I want to start this post of by saying I am not in any way affiliated with any of the companies mentioned in this post, I  simply have close to 30 years experience dealing with them in various situations.

As an expat in China and specifically in Shanghai health insurance is a critical part of ones life, for many years I used Ping An insurance and it never failed me, it was fast, reliable and I never had to pay as it all was direct billing and they allowed all international hospitals as well as the local ones for good choice.

But starting last year they removed United Family Which is one the most famous International hospitals in Shanghai from many of their plans and they dramatically raised the price to almost double so that an insurance plan that previously was around 17 000 RMB / year now was close to 30 000 RMB / year with less cover.

As it turned out a few years ago I made a friend who was a doctor and worked for Jia Hui Hospital and as it turns out many of the doctors and nurses from United Family now works for Jia Hui, more importantly Jia Hui also runs their own insurance policy and at a price that will blow most other insurance companies away, for jus about 12 000 RMB / year you get better coverage and the only drawback is that for international hospitals you have to use their hospital or clinics which was ok with me as I said earlier many doctors and nurses from United Family moved there anyway and the other doctors there are mostly English speaking and the hospital is super modern as well.

These are my personal views and I am not in any way getting any benefits from anyone for writing this I simply want to share this for others to benefit from.
